Discord Bot

The VHOLUME Discord bot manages Steam leaderboards for custom maps. You do not have to use it, but it is the only way to delay or prevent a leaderboard reset when you update your map.

What it does automatically

Once your map is public on Steam Workshop, the bot scans the catalogue every hour. After it sees the same map in two consecutive scans, it creates a leaderboard. In most cases this happens on its own within a couple of hours.

If you do not want to wait, DM the bot:

workshop add <workshop link>

This creates the leaderboard immediately.

Why you should claim your map

Updating your map files clears the leaderboard, because times set on the previous version may no longer be possible. If the bot knows you own the map, it will DM you before clearing and wait two hours so you can decide what to do.

Claim a map

1. DM the bot: workshop claim <workshop link>
2. The bot gives you a token like VHOLUME-VERIFY-XXXXXXXX.
3. Paste that token into your map's Workshop description and save.
4. DM the bot: workshop verify

After that, the bot treats you as the owner of that map.

workshop freeze <link>	Stop resets on that map for 72 hours while you edit.
workshop unfreeze <link>	End a freeze early.
workshop keep <link>	Answer a pending reset: keep the times.
workshop reset <link>	Answer a pending reset: clear them now.
workshop notify off <link>	Stop the bot DMing you about a map.

Editing description, title or thumbnail

Those changes do not reset the leaderboard. Only a change to the actual map files does.

If you do nothing

• The leaderboard is created automatically within a couple of hours.
• When you update the map files, the leaderboard is cleared.
• You will not get a warning because the bot does not know who to ask.
